Autumn Essentials

Originally I was nominated by Emma from: From Emma With Love, who has a beautiful blog, to do the Autumn favourites tag, however I felt like doing an essentials post as I have a similar one planned near to the end of autumn.

On with my Autumn Essentials…

Like last season I did a Summer Essentials post which people seemed to love! Therefore I am going to be sharing with you this seasons must haves. To me autumn can feel like such a change from the hot sunny weather in Summer, that is why I have a few essentials that you’ll need to get through the chilly Autumn!

Firstly, I am going to talk about a few body care products seeing as the weather change can often cause strange things to happen to your skin, well it definitely has to mine! I have chosen three products from The Body Shop which I think suite my needs very well. The first is Shea Nourishing Whipped Lotion, and I have chosen the lotion because by legs aren’t super dry- that’s usually not until Winter, so it adds a sheer layer of moisture on my body which is very much needed as my skin is getting a little dry because of the cold. Then I have the Pinita Colada Exfoliating Cream Body Scrub, which is great as it has that moisturising element, from the cream, you want in the Autumn and it’s good to exfoliate away any flaky skin you may have burnt during the summer! I love just opening it up and smelling that fruity summer scent again and not to add, why not have the smell of summer all year round? The last Body Shop product that is a must have for myself is the Satsuma Hand Cream, some may think this is too strong for a hand cream but I absolutely adore it, it’s perfect for when my hands are dry and peeling from the cold/weather change.

Then we have CANDLES, probably the one you all knew I was going to talk about because it’s the first time of year you can get your candles out again, I know some people are a real sucker and use them all year round, but isn’t it exciting when you first light them again! There’s something about candles that give a cosy, autumnal feeling and are a must have this season and winter!

Next up is comfy, fluffy socks (fun fact: I am actually wearing some whilst I’m writing this lol) They are such an essential throughout autumn and winter, who wants to have cold feet in the evening and at night?! Also a classic autumnal tartan/checked scarf is a fashion staple during autumn, you can wear it with anything and it’ll make your look more seasonal. I love mine it was from River Island who do great ones, they aren’t the blanket type – these would be better for winter.

Lastly this is an all year rounder for me, which is fairy lights, they make your home/bedroom feel so cosy. There is nothing better than snuggling in bed with your fluffy socks on, shivering a tad, sipping on a hot chocolate, watching Netflix/YouTube with your fairy lights wacked on in the background. Am I right? So go get yourself some fairy lights this week and you’ll see what I mean. They make everything so perfect.

Thank you for reading I hope you enjoyed it! Since I did this tag a little differently I am not going to nominate anyone else, but big thanks to Emma for nominating me in the first place, her blog is amazing so go check it out (linked at the start)!

Your fairy lights are so dainty and cute – lovely photography Tilly! I went on something of a candle shopping spree for the season and I am feeling fabulously shameless about it, I can’t smell but candles always get me into an autumnal mood.
