How To Be A Morning Person Again…

I know mornings aren’t for everyone but for me I have never had any issues with getting up in the mornings therefore I thought I’d share with you how I successfully make it to school in the morning! Yes you’re probably going to hate me because I’m a morning person and your kinda not (?) but it’s even more embarrassing when your not a night owl and you’re at a party and by 10 you’re ready to leave to go to bed! Sad times ;( When I say I’m a morning person, I’m not one to wake up at 5am and be totally wide awake, I’ve just learnt how to except the fact I need to leave the house by 8am! So I have five do’s and don’t’s when it comes to learning how to be a morning person again, lets begin…


  1. Prepping the night before

This is so important as it can buy you a lot of time to sleep in the next day, sounds good hey?! If you know you need a packed lunch the following day then why not make it the night before, it will make life so much easier. However it doesn’t have to be the whole lunch, choose to make the things that you know take the longest like your sandwich/salad/pasta. Another thing you can do the night before is to lay out your school uniform/clothes (making sure they’re ironed and washed!) as well as packing your bag with all the books and things you need for that day. This way you are organised and do not have to stress the next morning but do double check you have everything you need that morning as I haven’t always and have forgotten things before!



2. Don’t leave washing your hair till the morning!

Something I have done for most of my life is wash my hair the night before and go to bed with wet hair so that when I wake up in the morning it’s dry (well mostly dry as I have extremely thick hair!). Then you can have more time to style it in the morning using heat or not heat. A benefit of doing this is that you are not putting lots of heat onto your hair as it is drying naturally. For some people they hate their natural hair but doing this the night before allows you to spend more time in the morning getting it looking a little more decent and you don’t have to get up ridiculously early in order to go through the routine of wash and blow-dry every morning!




This is soooo horrible but so much easier than pressing that snooze button 10 times from about 5 o clock onwards. You NEED to get up when your alarm goes off as A) you’ll gain more time sleeping and B) you’ll feel so much more awake and ready for the day. It’s one of those things you really have to force yourself to do at first but I promise it does get easier. You’ll find that the minuets after you wake up you are literally half asleep but it eases away and you’ll feel more awake than ever! So this is the ban of the snooze button, when you hear that charming alarm sound go off DON’T CLICK THE SNOOZE BUTTON, just get up! It’s as easy as that. Not really, I understand people, I do.


    4. Have a morning routine/schedule 

Something I have moulded into my mornings everyday is a routine/schedule. All you need to do is give yourself time limits for each activity in the morning and stick to them. I do not write down the times of when I need to do things by, I just mentally break my morning down into 4 separate things, they are: waking up and putting school uniform on ( 6:45-7), doing makeup/getting ready (7-7:30), have breakfast and make lunch if I haven’t already the night before (7:30-7:50) and brushing my teeth/last minuet checks (7:50-8). If for some reason I oversleep my alarm the whole schedule is knocked out of place and there is a lot of rushing and panicking! So that’s  why I always try to stick to this to make my mornings as stress free and as easy as possible, trust me this helps!


5. Allow yourself some time

I sort of touched on this in the last tip, that is to leave yourself 10 minuets or so to check you have everything you need for the day, go to the toilet and maybe do last minute makeup tweaks. I also use this time check my phone a little bit however I do most of this on the way to school on the bus. That’s a tip in itself, don’t keep checking your phone as you get caught up and before you know it half an hour has gone by! So just make sure to leave yourself some time in the morning to just chill and prepare for the day ahead as you’ll feel a bit more relaxed about the day if you just stop for a moment, we all know how manic mornings can get!

    Lovely post and photos! This was so helpful as I go back to school on Tuesday, will definitely be using some of your tips as I end up rushing my makeup every morning and panicking that my brows aren’t filled in 😘😂
