Summer smoothies/ breakfast ideas

So today I’ll be telling you how you make these fabulous smoothies that are suitable for breakfast or for refreshing you on a hot summers day! They are super easy to make and taste delicious. All the ingredients are affordable- my total for making all three of these came to around £9 which is great as there is still lots left over. I have three healthy ideas for you today so lets go! P.s as you can see the first smoothie as been drunk a little, it may have been just too tempting whilst making the others, sorry!IMG_3117.JPG

  1. Berry Flaxseed smoothie – this one was my favourite!

Ingredients: (serves 1)

  • 2 table spoons of whole flaxseeds (however I used chia seeds as I couldn’t IMG_3056.JPGjustify spending crazing amounts on them as they give exactly the same results.)
  • 1/2 cup of orange juice
  • 1/2 cup of vanilla yoghurt
  • 1 cup of frozen mixed berries
  • 1 small banana

All you need to do is place the flax/chia seeds in a dry blender, cover and blend until ground into fine powder. Add rest of ingredients after starting with orange juice. Blend until smooth and creamy. Finish with a skewer of blueberries.


2. Strawberry and banana Yogurt Smoothie layered with granola (optional)


  • 1 1/2 cups of vanilla yogurtIMG_3087.JPG
  • 2 cups of strawberries
  • 1/4 cup of orange juice
  • 1/2 tps of sugar
  • 1 small banana ( added halfway through as consistency was very thin but optional)

Firstly add strawberries to blender, then yogurt, orange juice, sugur and banana chopped. It makes blends together quickly! Then pour a little into a glass layer with granola, pour more and just keep layering. Top with banana and strawberries. This is perfect for breakfast!


3. Superberry Smoothie topped with granola

Ingredients: (serves 1)

  • Frozen berriesIMG_3099.JPG
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • Small banana
  • Strawberries and blueberries to top

Add frozen berries and milk, then the banana. If too thick add more milk, if too thin add more banana. This is very simple and quick! Finish with granola on top followed by strawberries and blueberries. 


These smoothies take 5 mins to prepare if you know what your doing unlike I was. But I shall be a professional after making these delicious smoothies all summer long! Thank you for reading- this took a lot of time and effort to make but so worth it for the end results.
