We all know how ‘not very nice’ that time of the month can be. When all you want to do is stay curled up in the same position in bed, with a hot water bottle pressed against you belly watching Netflix with a bar of chocolate. But we can’t always do that, most people have to get on with their day whether that be work or school, and its sucks.
This month I was delighted to receive a Betty Box, a monthly subscription box WELL worth the money, I’ll get onto why in a moment. This box is aimed at early teens, just getting to grips with their cycle and probably finding it all very overwhelming – I certainly did. It’s purposefully designed to make you feel more comfortable, relaxed and pampered during what can be a very UN-comfortable, gross time! Betty is the ‘teen version’ of Pink Parcel, so if your reading this thinking ‘this is a little too young for me’ then check out Pink Parcel
What is a Betty Box?
- a specially tailored subscription box with all your monthly period essentials.
- brilliant beauty products from top brands.
- sweet treats for that much-needed pick me up
…plus loads of other cool stuff
So how does it work?
It’s so easy, all you need to do is choose what sanitary products you would like in your box, either tampons, towels or mixed. Then just choose your delivery date, one nearest to your period and put in your details. You get your first box for £6.99 then after that they are £10.50, which I think is quite cheeky! I think the first price you pay is amazing and good value for money, but I can see why they ramp it up to £10.50 because they include such amazing beauty products inside! I would say it’s definitely worth getting, at least the first box, as it’s such a lovely thing to get when you are on your period, plus you can cancel your subscription at anytime!
So what’s actually in the box?
- a drawstring bag ‘for now’ – containing sanitary products to be chucked into your bag straight away!
- a box ‘for latter’ – containing more sanitary products to fill up the bag
- a box ‘for night’ – containing night time towels
- a box ‘for you’ – with all the beauty and sweet treats inside
I think they’ve really made sure it’s a tailor made box sanitary product wise, however what would have made it even more personal in my opinion would be to choose what products went in it. Perhaps you could take a test to see what sort of products you’re most likely to like? Something like this to add an even more personalised touch would make it even more well worth the £10.50.
Is it worth the money?
Yes it is. Would you like all your towels and tampons delivered to your doorstep? Including a tone of beauty products like face masks, hand cream, nail polishes and sweets? I certainly would! It’s just such a lovely thing to receive when you’re probably feeling really down in the dumps, therefore I’d highly recommend you checking out Betty.box and maybe even order yourself a box for next month’s period?
Betty.box are not only a subscription service they offer all sorts of girly advice and chat over at Betty.me. It’s a sort of webzine where they write about everything and anything from body, lifestyle and people to style. I would love to have known about this website when I was around the ages of 13!
If you think that you are too old for this then please recommend it to someone younger than yourself, someone who might benefit from Betty.me and check out Pink Parcel. I would SO have gotten this box if I started my period a lot earlier than I did, but unfortunately mother nature decided that for me. To be honest I think this is suitable for the ages of 12-16, I loved it!
