There’s something so satisfying about finding a new product that you absolutely LOVE, especially if you’ve spent your own money on it and are sceptical about how good it’s going to be. There’s nothing worse than buying in to a hype and being so disappointed with the product you’ve had high expectations for.
Over the last few months I have accumulated several beauty items that have ticked all the boxes for me, that is why I took the decision to share their amazingness (is that a word?!) with you.
With out further or do, lets get straight on into it…
Firstly I have been really enjoying Mac’s single eyeshadow in Wedge, it’s the perfect mid brown all over the lid kinda shade. For dark haired girls like me I find this really complements the hair, eyes and brows. It’s also great as a base colour for a brown/gold smokey eye, and as a natural crease colour. It’s basically an all rounder, staple item to have in your makeup bag – I’ve gotten so much use out of it in the last month or so!
The next item is also an eyeshadow, from a newly discovered brand – Kiko. It’s a beautiful, shimmery, champagne/taupe shade (200). It claims to be a ‘long lasting, wet and dry use’ eyeshadow. I have used it both wet (with Mac’s Fix Plus) and dry and have found no distinctive difference, personally. Maybe I’m wetting my brush too much? I don’t know, but what I do know is that it goes ever so well with the eyeshadow I was talking about above. Centred on the lid – halo style, ahh it looks stunning. I’ve heard these make excellent highlighters as well so I shall be picking up some lighter shades!
Benefit Roller Lash and The Porefessional
Then we have a couple of Benefit minis; Roller Lash and The Porefessional which came in a set I received for Christmas (can you believe it’s already been 2 months HOW WEIRD?!). These items have always been seriously hyped about within the beauty blogging/vlogging industry and I have never thought to by in to them (primarily because of the price as I’m poor :)). But since receiving these products, not on my own accord, I have managed to steer away from Maybelline’s Lash Sensational, and discover a new primer that actually works! I am obsessed with the length and lift Roller Lash gives you, it’s insane. And I love how The Porefessional stops my pores from producing so much oil throughout the day!
Real Techniques Mini Sponges
My next brilliant discovery has got the be Real Techniques Miracle Mini Eraser sponges – gosh that’s a mouthful. These lil’ guys are fantastic for pin pointing concealer and under the eyes. However I mainly use them for cleaning up my brows with concealer. I tend to use the flat side of the sponge for a sharp blend, it’s made my whole brow routine that much quicker and easier each morning. Totally obsessed with them!
Threads Beauty Lashes
Last but not least is a product I am entirely new to and that is fake eyelashes. Threads Beauty eyelashes kindly sent me a couple of pairs to try out and I instantly fell in love. My favourite, most natural pair are the Vava Voom lashes, they honestly look like your normal lashes but a little thicker and volumised. They claim their lashes ‘are 100% hand made and are made using the highest quality fibres. They are 100% reusable’ so all in all a pretty safe buy! They’re a brand that I am all for promoting because their lashes are simply amazing.
That’s it for my recent beauty discoveries, I hope I’ve helped you discover some new products. Please let me know your thoughts on them or if you already own some of them and have a mixed opinions? – comment down bellow…
