For my birthday I was lucky enough to receive a package from Beauty Bay containing a beautiful Morphe Palette AND a bottle of Alpha- H Liquid Gold. At this point I had never heard of this ‘liquid gold’ product, but I did know that it sounded pretty darn good. So I did a little research and found out that it is a skincare item and quite a big beauty phenomenon right now. I have been trying this out for a good three weeks altogether which has given me enough time to build some honest opinions on it, but to be quite honest I probably could have given my opinion after the first use as it showed instantly amazing results.
I shall be sharing with you; a brief product description of the product, my first impressions, how effective it actually was on my skin and whether or not I would recommend it?
Brief Description of Alpha- H Liquid Gold
This products main feature is that it contains glycolic acid, which is a great natural exfoliator as it ‘resurfaces your skin’ (in a good way!). It’s like a toner, in the way that it is just a clear liquid formula, like water however it is far from water! What hooked me was that it is said to help clear acne and reduce the sizes of pores, which made me super excited to use it. Glycolic acid is good for reducing cystic acne which is caused by deep blockages of dead skin cells and sebum, I suffer from these on my forehead so I was eager to know if it actually stopped them. It also makes the skin look more radiant by removing the layer of dead skin cells, which is what you’d expect from an acid based product.
BENEFITS- directly from Alpha – H
- Clarifies and brightens the complexion
- Reduces the appearance of pigmentation, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles
- Works as a toner, exfoliator, serum, and moisturiser
- Increases moisture within the skin
- Salon results in one easy step
When I used it for the first time I felt a tingling sensation and then I remembered watching the video on the Alpha H website and it said to expect this, however it is completely normal so don’t be alarmed. Immediately after I felt as though it was working, my skin was feeling a little smoother, as it sinks in straight away leaving no residue- bonus! I honestly didn’t know what to expect before I used it, initially I thought it was a bit of a ‘gimmick’ product, as it just seemed like a bottle of highly expensive water. But I was wrong…
Did it actually work?
And the answer to that is a big fat YES. From the moment I first used it to now, I haven’t stopped raving about it to my family and friends! It has worked wonders on my skin. A little info about my skin issues, I in no way have acne but I suffer from hormonal spots and oily areas like my nose and forehead. Before using Liquid Gold I would get horrible, painful cyst like spots on my forehead, I literally had one after the other it was so annoying and I couldn’t find a way of getting rid of them. Now I use this product every other day (like recommended), it has significantly reduced the amount I get, in fact I think I’ve had one or two small ones since using it, which has made such a difference to my confidence and overall skin. I has also reduced my pores MASSIVELY meaning that they are less open, less clogged and I don’t see as much oil seeping out of my nose (gross-sorry!) during the day which is soooo much better! Another thing this product has helped with is making my skin more radiant and less dull due to the resurfacing technique. Overall Liquid Gold has reduced the number of spots I get, my pore size and my dullness.
The only downside I have for this product is, because it is an acid it can dry certain areas out, not hugely but enough to notice. For example it makes my nose go a little flakey which is slightly confusing as my nose tends to be quite oily. However this could be because I am putting too much on (a little goes a long way btw people!), or it is another new product I am using at the moment. Who know’s? Whatever way, I can deal with a little bit of dry nose syndrome in replace for less spots!
Would I recommend it?
Hell yeah! I recommend every single one of you who is reading this right now who wants all these glorious benefits to happen to their skin, to buy it or put it on ya Christmas list! I am sure you will not be disappointed, it has honestly worked miracles on my skin and I will definitely be re-purchasing! I can see why it has been a cult classic beauty favourite across social media and online right now, which gives you all the more reason to try it yourself. I believe it comes in various sizes ranging from £33.50 (100ml) to £40 (200ml), I know quite pricey but 100% worth it. You can get it from Cult Beauty, M&S Beauty, Look Fantastic and many other places, so it is super easy to get hold of from the UK. If you struggle with any kind of problematic skin I think you will really like this.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this blog post, let me know in the comments if this is something you’re asking for this Christmas!
