It’s that time of year now when we have to say a farewell to the sweet summertime and an excited hello to my favourite season ever AUTUMN! It’s never easy saying goodbye, I know, just try to embrace those first few days in Autumn and you’ll find yourself excited for Christmas already! The only problem is your wardrobe is completely full of shorts, summer dresses, bikinis and flip-flops, and your probably thinking how am I going to make that transition into autumn?! You just need to think of what you already have and take these styling tips into account to make your transition a smooth one.
The end of summer between the autumn can be quite warm and humid, basically the current weather I’m dealing with right now! Therefore you need to be prepared for warmer days and of course those unexpected colder days that you are totally not used to! That is why I’ve got three style tips that will help you look like your fashion has changed with the season as well as making sure your weather prepared! Enough of me rambling on shall we begin?…
A seasons staple is little ankle boots, these can be worn with summery dresses or with tights and an autumnal dress/skirt. They really make your outfit obvious that you’ve changed your style to match the season, plus they look super cute in Autumn anyway. Mine from H&M recently and I have to say they aren’t the comfiest but they are wearable and I love them so who’s to care! I’ve styled them with another transitional tip which is to wear longer sleeves like t-shirt length, as straps are a no go now and it’s still a tad warm for full length sleeves.
My next tip is to change up your colour scheme, from a summery pop of colours to a more darker palette, sounds so horrible but it’s actually my favourite part of transitioning as I get to introduce black into my wardrobe again! By this I mean maybe changing your light blue jeans to a darker pair, black even or wearing more reds and autumnal shades. I have done this by wearing a black cord pinafore instead of a blue denim pinafore as that was sooo last summer. Underneath is a beautiful Victorian style blouse which was a bargain I picked up from Primark, then I paired that with a classic red chequered scarf that becomes very popular during the autumn/winter months!
Lastly is to wear a jacket that can keep you warm if layered up with a hoodie. It’s great to wear one on days that are warmer but too cold not to wear a jacket . I choose this military one from H&M because I saw that they where creeping into fashion slightly and wanted to jump on the band wagon, plus khaki is a trendy autumnal colour that I love. It would look great with a summery dress and ankle boots or just really casual with jeans and a tee. Wearing a jacket like this will help you transition much easier into the colder days *CRY*, so get yourself to the shops!
I hoped I’ve helped you with transitioning to autumn as I know it can be difficult, much harder than going into summer! Thanks for reading and for smashing 3K views on my blog I’m honestly over the moon, so grateful for you all!
